Chris Milam

Chris is currently President of Milam’s Optical Service, succeeding his father, Edmund D. Milam, who still holds the position as Chief Executive Officer of Milam’s. Chris and his wife, Liza, have three children; Michael (age 15), Molly (age 11), and Matthew (age 9).

Chris has 20 years experience in the optical industry, as well as 8 years as a financial advisor at J.C. Bradford & UBS. Chris is also one of only 300 Master opticians in the United States.

Chris currently works as president of Milam’s as well as a licensed optician and vision/fashion consultant at our Green Hills location.

Chris enjoys his Christian faith, church, his family, reading, and athletics.

Jane Grannis

Jane, Dispensing Optician and Vision Consultant, is the sales coordinator of the Green Hills location. She has been with the company for 38 years. Jane is a licensed Dispensing Optician with the state of Tennessee since 1977. She is also a member of the Tennessee Dispensing Opticians Association and the American Board of Opticianry.

Jane has extensive experience in fitting glasses ranging from small children to adults.

Tammy Von Almen

Tammy’s career at Milam’s Optical Service began in July 1987. Her dedication and hard-work has been shown in her customer retention and store sales. Tammy has so many patients that have been coming to her for years and years. As a result, Tammy is one of our top sales people in the company.

In 1993, Tammy became licensed by the state of Tennessee, and became a Certified Optician of the American Board of Opticianry. Yet another achievement, Tammy also became a Certified Contact Lens Technician by the National Contact Lens Examiners.

Tammy Von Almen is currently the manager for our Mid-State Medical Center location. Come see why Tammy is regarded so highly, and allow her to take care of your eye care needs!

Kelly Obedala

Kelly joined the Milam crew in September 2009. Kelly began her career at Milam’s in the bookkeeping department. After a year, Kelly took a different position as an ‘optician in training’ under the leadership of Mrs. Tammy Von Almen.

Kelly officially began a 3-year dispensing optician apprenticeship program in July 2011 with the state of Tennessee. Kelly also possesses student membership with the Tennessee Dispensing Opticians Association.

Kelly attributes her new skills and knowledge to her mentor, Tammy Von Almen. Tammy is the current manager of our Mid-State Medical Center office.

"I have learned a lot working with the people at Milam’s. I hope to continue to flourish under Tammy Von Almen’s direction, and will, hopefully, become just as talented as my fellow coworkers".

Gregory Davis

Gregory began his optical career in 2001, and was licensed by the state of Tennessee in 2008 as a dispensing optician.

Gregory is also a certified optician of the American Board of Opticianry, as well as, a certified Contact Lens Technician under the national contact Lens Examiners. Gregory has received specialized training for Low Vision eye care needs and products through the leading supplier of Low Vision products; Eschenbach.

Gregory also has previous training in photography/art. He has shown his work throughout the country. We, currently and proudly, display Gregory’s art work at both of our locations.

Felda Stacey

Felda started in the optical business in 1979 and became licensed in the state of Tennessee in 1983 as a Dispensing Optician. That same year she became a chartered certified optician of the American Board of Opticianry. In addition to these accomplishments, Felda has been termed as a certified Contact Lens Technician by the National Contact Lens Examiners.

In 2003, Felda was appointed by the Governor to the Licensing Board of Dispensing Opticians for a four-year term, and is currently serving as a consultant to the board.

Felda is a current member and officer (Treasurer) of the Tennessee Dispensing Opticians Association. In 2008, she received the honor of Optician of the Year by the Association, in recognition for the years of service as a dispensing optician.

Felda began working at Milam’s Optical Service in September 1985, and has been working at our Mid-State office building since 1992.
